yeah, well the blog's going, not a whole lot to say 'cept I'm back @ school and getting used to classes. Can't wait to be done. I should probably have some thought-provoking stuff here, or ask a question challenging the porn industry or something...
I am by no means an expert on porn (more of a spectator, actually), but I've read a few reports on HIV outbreaks in the industry. It seems that some forum crawling numbskulls frequently bring up the topic particularly when a certain model has not performed or "put out anything new" for said numbskull's 2-inch pleasure for awhile. Guess I'd call them trolls, but that's a disrespect to real trolls, who live under bridges which are not usually WiFi hotspots. I digress.
Anyhow, the rumor mill gets going and sooner or later people are throwing more names around and such. Any report also seems to get the health officials going on how the industry "screams for regulation." This never gets done, likely because those with the power to regulate themselves enjoy the product of the industy behind closed doors.
From a personal standpoint, I don't really care if condoms are used or not in porn, however I think the performers should be left to decide. Their bodies, their risks, their agreements on the terms of the scene. The testing within the industry is supposedly suspect, but with the amount of porn out there being produced and the relative infrequency of reported cases (the newest ones I've found are from last summer, reporting some 22 people infected with HIV over the past 5 years), it'd seem to me that for the most part the testing works. That's a small number when there are THOUSANDS of people active in performing at any given time.
There just appears to be a gray area between the time of the test giving the performer the "all systems go" and the time of the scene itself. Women and male talent obviously have sexual encounters outside of the industry, and those they have encounters with may have had further encounters with others. A performer who's suddenly HIV positive could have contracted the STD from anyone, so I do not think it totally fair to blame the testing, however I do understand the calls for protection.

Hey all, did some good work today, went to the dump and found a Sega Genesis for free (I tested it when I got home and it started right up!!), also got a Blaupunkt 5-disc cd changer for 3 bucks. even if I cant get it to work its not too much of a loss.. won two bucks on a scratchoff lotto (where are you Chelle's Sexy Scratchoff Extravaganza?!), and returned a buncha bottles and picked up some brews. Managed to fix the spring in the ridiculously compact (and thus somewhat more complicated) ancient original locking mechanism on my door, meaning the one from the Jetta and beat Scirocco I picked up the other day were nullified. Did some good wiring, finished up hooking up the garage door motors and began hooking up the main power lines for the motors' power. Learning a lot, with the help of my dad - he's a smart fella.
anyhow, irked @ how much textbooks cost - i'd go into details but it'd probly qualify as showing rape on the 'net, and the feds probly hate me enough already (partially joking, but ya never know...)
might do some work for my neighbor tomorrow, or may more likely blow it off to go help my friend work on an old Triumph Spitfire he picked up for 300 bucks. It'll be a pretty sweet ride.

I figure going after as much qualification as possible cant hurt, eventually somebody'll want to hire me.
yeah, I've thought of the military, one of my close friends is an ex-Marine who served in the Gulf War, 'cept I busted my leg real good back in early '03 and have a bunch of rods holding it together, unsure if that'll pass US military qualifications... I can run faster than before the break though, so maybe that's good. If not for the military, at least for an amateur (american) football league. Damn, returning kicks 100 + yards and hauling in Hail Marys would be a sick job!

not much happened today - drilled a sad hole into one of my floor rafters by mistake in an attempt for some hidden wiring... Personally I think those electronic studfinders kind of suck... Then again it was pretty careless on my part..  Also picked up some shitty old locks for the driver side of my '86 VW Scirocco (it's German short for 'Desert Wind' in case you were wondering) from a couple of V-dub guys I've gotten parts from before. Doubt either will work, meaning I really got no where's today, but that's how some of 'em go.
I let my Pops smoke my last Pall Mall filter earlier tonite, god I wish smokes didnt cost so much.. Just cuz they aint prescribed by a doctor doesnt mean they should be a rape-you-cruelly item. I guess the gov. and their insurance companies want to curb you to their pills or something, so taxing the ciggy companies is profitable for both. IDK
